Robin and John Larsen Art Collection Exhibition & Sale

  New Hope Arts hosts the Robin & John Larsen Art Collection, Exhibition, Auction and Sale from October 27 to 29. This one-time display of favorite artists of New Hope from the 1970s to the present, is assembled for the community to see before dispersal. The exhibition is a unique commemoration, featuring more than 150 works by New Hope’s historic and celebrated local artists collected by NHArts founding family. Many established artists are in the show:  Illia Barger, James Feehan, Mira Nakashima, Rye Tippet are represented along with the colorful works of Rhonda Bigonet, a memorable figure in the 1970s. Robin & John Larsen supported the arts and artists of the region for many years during their lives together. Robin was the inspirational force behind the New Hope Arts & Crafts Show, as well as the creator of New Hope Arts, Inc. as a regional center in 2002, and the Outdoor Sculpture Project started in 2003. Robin, who passed away in 2009 can be remembered for her efforts to make the New Hope and Lambertville - twin cities for the arts.

 John, the proprietor of John & Peter’s for so many years, is in his 90th year and will be present on the reception evening, Friday October 27 to tell some of the background of the collection and the artists on view. The Preview of the exhibition will include a live and silent auction, refreshments and the opportunity to acquire art works. A portion of the sales will be donated for the benefit of New Hope Arts.
